A ban on employee strikes was removed from an Ohio higher education overhaul to get Senate Bill 83 across the finish line in the Ohio House. But Democrats say the proposal still undermines collective bargaining rights.
Sen. Jerry Cirino, R-Kirtland, said he still feels very strongly about banning faculty and college employees from striking but agreed to remove that provision as part of a compromise. Unions previously called the option an "indispensable part of the collective bargaining procedure."
