Right-to-work repeal to take effect this week

By: Rayvin Bleu and Hannah Mose

Michigan has long been known as the mainstay of organized labor, but last year, the state became the first in six decades to repeal the “right-to-work” law, and that will go into effect this week.

“When right-to-work was put into place, the resources that they would use to do that was depleted and it took away their ability to do that effectively,” said Donnie Blatt, the District 1 director for the United Steel Workers union.
