Insider: Teamsters driving staff unionization effort in Michigan House

Michigan House staffers went public this past week with a plan to organize a union under Teamsters Local 243, a campaign that is expected to continue through the next several weeks.

Staffers contacted the Teamsters in January and, shortly after, began circulating union authorization cards among Democratic and Republican employees in the House, according to a statement from the labor union that largely represents commercial truck drivers.
