1,100 high-skilled jobs could come to Michigan with $900M solar facility

As demand for solar power in the U.S. continues to grow, Corning Inc. has plans for a solar component manufacturing facility, more than 1,100 new high-skilled jobs and a capital investment of up to $900 million in Saginaw County.

To support this project, Corning requested a $68 million Critical Industry Program (CIP) grant and a 15-year State Essential Services Assessment Exemption estimated to be worth nearly $12.3 million.
