Whitmer signs directive to train 5,000 new infrastructure workers by 2030

Gov. Gretchen Whitmer signed legislation that seeks to help train 5,000 new infrastructure workers by Jan. 1, 2030, state officials announced Monday.

The legislation, the Infrastructure Workforce Executive Directive, is intended to help workers earn industry-recognized certificates, credentials, or on-the-job training, officials said.
