U.S. Sen. Sherrod Brown (D-OH) announced Sept. 30 a $500,000 investment in Lorain County Community College to provide state-of-the-art training and equipment for students in the Microelectronic Manufacturing degree track, and in the Manufacturing Electronics and Rework Institute for Training laboratory.
The new equipment will help prepare students with hands-on training opportunities relevant to a broad range of advanced manufacturing careers, including the growing semiconductor chip industry, and prepare them for high-demand jobs in the industry, according to a news release.
