Philadelphia school district, teachers union reach tentative 1-year contract extension

The School District of Philadelphia and its largest union announced a tentative one-year contract extension Wednesday that would give teachers a 5% raise and retention bonuses.

The tentative agreement between the Philadelphia Federation of Teachers and the school district comes six months before the current collective bargaining agreement expires.
