Michigan is sixth, and Ohio is eighth nationally for clean energy jobs, according to the ninth annual Clean Jobs America report that the advocacy group E2 has written using government-produced data.

E2 stands for Environmental Entrepreneurs. It worked with another group called Evergreen Climate Innovations to produce Clean Jobs Midwest, a companion report that shows clean energy and clean vehicle jobs in the 12-state Midwestern region grew to a record high of more than 761,000 jobs in 2023, up 3.9 percent over the previous year.
